  • You would like to feel more comfortable on stage

These are all great reasons to take this acting workshop.  Starting with the basics of acting through improvisation and working through to scene study.  This workshop will be a hands on, get your feet wet from the start kind of class where you will quickly learn some essential skills to being a better actor.  It will provide you with a “bag of tools” from which to draw when you are singing and acting.

Take your acting to the next level. Learn more about how to develop a character. In this class you will explore characterization through body language; how to use your voice, tone, timbre, speech patterns and body to communicate your character. You will also be using scenes to learn how to develop and interpret text and acting scenes.

 

 

Joel is a fantastic teacher who works with people at every level of skill to take them to the next level so there is no requirement to have previous acting training to attend.

Joel Cottingham is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s acting conservatory in Montreal. Joel regularly performs and teaches improv comedy in Vancouver with Instant Theatre (instanttheatre.com) when not busy auditioning in the TV, film, and commercial industry.

No stranger to musical theatre or choral singing, Joel enjoys using music as a metaphor with which to coach the scene. Joel’s specialties are mining the script, finding the humour, and moving people forward with care.
